My wife in 2010.

Last night during BRIC House we talked about what we were most thankful for.  That thing, place or event that God gave us that still is having a lasting impact on our life.  I gave an answer that revolved around my father passing and the ramifications in my life.  And while that was a valley in my life, I should still thank God for the low times of life.

One thing that I am constantly thanking God for is my wife.  The countless qualities of her character are a constant source of admiration.

My wife
  • encourages me to be a better man
  • to seek God's heart in all things
  • raises my children as God's children
  • expects the best from everyone
  • exhorts those around her
  • makes me laugh
  • surpises me with her wisdom
  • considers everyone else first, herself last.

I love my wife.

A wise woman said to her daughter before her marriage:

A certain wise woman said to her daughter before her marriage: “My child, stand before thy husband and minister to him. If thou wilt act as his maiden he will be thy slave, and honour thee as his mistress; but if thou exalt thyself against him, he will be thy master, and thou shalt become vile in his eyes, like one of the maidservants.”
